Bryce Young is my captain. It's the Browns' home opener, and the best quarterback in the building is the one on the road.
Young has thrown for 648 yards and six touchdowns on 73 attempts, with one pick, and he's run another one in. He's averaging 29.8 DraftKings points, the top mark on this board. He's $10,600 in the flex and $15,900 at captain. I'll pay the captain price. Nobody else here has done anything close to that.
The other captain I'll use is Jalen Coker, and his ankle is the reason he's second. He's questionable. He didn't practice Thursday, then Friday he was in uniform catching punts ([Joseph Person, Sept. 25](https://x.com/josephperson/status/2103505351874347171)), and after practice Dave Canales said he expects Coker to play while Xavier Legette will likely be a game-day call ([Joseph Person, Sept. 25](https://x.com/josephperson/status/2103524023783039111)). Coker has 16 catches for 204 yards and two scores, a 25.7-point average, and he's $9,000. If he's active at 1:00, he goes in every Young build I make. If he's a surprise inactive, Tetairoa McMillan is the receiver. He's $10,000 with 10 catches for 176 yards and no touchdowns yet, which is too much money for a guy still waiting on his first score.
Chuba Hubbard costs $10,200. He's got 102 rushing yards on 22 carries and two receiving touchdowns. I don't like him at that number next to Young. I'd rather have the pass-catchers.
The cheap Carolina play is Darren Waller at $4,400. Five catches, two touchdowns. Mike Kaye pointed out Waller has caught 8 of 9 red-zone targets over the past two years ([Mike Kaye, Sept. 25](https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/2103463896757510352)). That's the salary saver I want.
Cleveland is harder. Deshaun Watson has completed 40 of 52 for 443 yards and three scores, and Todd Monken said he had his best week of practice ([Mary Kay Cabot, Sept. 25](https://x.com/MaryKayCabot/status/2103536807015256412)). $9,600 in the flex. He's the bring-back if I want one. Denzel Boston is the better Cleveland piece anyway. Seven catches, 154 yards, two touchdowns, a 55-yarder. $7,000. He's the one Browns player I'd captain in a contrarian build.
Quinshon Judkins has 54 yards on 24 carries and he costs $9,400. That's a leave. KC Concepcion Jr. has ten catches for 71 yards at $6,400, which is volume with nowhere to go. Harold Fannin Jr. at $5,400 is fine and not exciting. Legette is questionable with the knee and I'm not guessing on him. Jonathon Brooks is on IR after core-muscle surgery.
Panthers defense at $5,000 is the defense I'd play. For a kicker, Ryan Fitzgerald at $5,200 over Andre Szmyt at $4,800 if I'm building around Carolina points.
Check Coker at 11:30 and go. @numeric_dfs
