Our model's rankings are dominated by EDM, which owns four of the eight top plays. Connor McDavid is the headliner at $9,500, with a 40.1 ceiling and a DraftKings average of 24.7. Leon Draisaitl at $8,900 carries a 35.8 ceiling, and Evan Bouchard at $8,000 adds a 32.4 ceiling from the blue line. Outside Edmonton, Macklin Celebrini (SJS) at $8,600 has a 32.9 ceiling, and Auston Matthews (TOR) at $8,500 sits at 31.7. Brandon Hagel (TBL) is $7,500 with a 30.6 ceiling, and Jeremy Swayman (BOS) is the top goalie on the board at $8,500 with a 27.0 ceiling.
The clearest value is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. At $4,400 he has a 27.3 ceiling and a 22.3 DraftKings average, which sits close to the averages of players priced far above him. Our model also builds around Anders Lee at $3,200, Connor McMichael at $3,200 and Chandler Stephenson at $3,000, three cheap pieces that free up cap room for the stars.
The sheet doesn't include ownership figures, so we can't say where the crowd will land. Note that a number of goalies carry an IR tag, including Devon Levi and Frederik Andersen (EDM), Filip Gustavsson (MIN), Logan Thompson (WSH), Linus Ullmark (OTT), Joonas Korpisalo (NYR) and Igor Shesterkin (NYR). Daniil Tarasov (DET) is tagged DTD.
Our model's top lineup uses $49,900 of the $50,000 cap. It starts with McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins at center, then Lucas Raymond at $6,000, Lee and McMichael on the wings. Bouchard and Charlie McAvoy at $5,500 anchor the defense, Joel Hofer at $7,100 starts in goal, and Stephenson fills the UTIL spot.
