Monday's main DraftKings slate for the NHL has three games: LAK @ NYR, TOR @ CGY and DET @ EDM. Lock is 7:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. PT), with a $50,000 salary cap in classic.
Edmonton owns the top of our model's ranking. Connor McDavid costs $9,700 with a ceiling of 38.3 and a DraftKings average of 23.9. Leon Draisaitl follows at $9,200 with a ceiling of 37.4 and an average of 22.3, and Evan Bouchard, the top defenseman on the board, sits at $8,200 with a 32.4 ceiling and a 19.6 average. All three come from the DET @ EDM game.
Toronto and Calgary supply the goalie options our model likes. Anthony Stolarz of TOR is $8,000 with a 26.7 ceiling and a 16.6 average. Devin Cooley of CGY is cheaper at $7,400, with a 24.1 ceiling and a 14.7 average. Auston Matthews ($8,500, ceiling 30.2) and Alex DeBrincat ($7,700, ceiling 27.6) round out the premium skaters.
The best value on the list is William Nylander of TOR. At $6,400 he carries a 25.1 ceiling and a 14.8 average, numbers that sit close to DeBrincat's despite a lower salary. Our model's lineup also leans on cheap salary at the bottom, with Martin Pospisil at $2,600, Erik Gustafsson at $2,600 and Oliver Bjorkstrand at $2,500 filling spots that free up money for the stars.
Ownership figures aren't available for this slate, so we can't say where the crowd will land. Check the status tags before building. Quinton Byfield of LAK and Daniil Tarasov of DET both carry a DTD tag.
Our model's top lineup uses $49,400 of the $50,000 cap. It runs Matthews at C, Pospisil at C, Draisaitl at W, Jack Roslovic at W ($4,300), Easton Cowan at W ($3,500), Bouchard and Gustafsson on defense, Stolarz in goal and Bjorkstrand at UTIL. Lock is Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
