Monday's DraftKings showdown is a one-game slate, LAK @ NYR, with a $50,000 cap and a captain slot that pays 1.5x points at 1.5x salary. Lock is Mon 10/26 at 7:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. PT).
The top of our model's board starts between the pipes. Spencer Martin of NYR has the highest ceiling of any player we rank, 25.0, at $10,200. Darcy Kuemper of LAK carries a 17.4 ceiling at $9,200 and a DraftKings average of 10.6, while NYR's Dylan Garand, also $10,200, tops out at 16.3 with a 9.9 average. Among skaters, Artemi Panarin of LAK sits at $10,000 with a 22.0 ceiling and a 12.8 average. Brandt Clarke is a step cheaper at $8,600, with a 20.6 ceiling and a 12.4 average, and Adrian Kempe is $9,400 with a 19.5 ceiling.
The value plays come from the LAK forwards. Erik Haula is just $5,000 but has a 21.8 ceiling, which is close to Panarin's at half the price. Scott Laughton costs $4,400 and has a 19.2 ceiling, though his DraftKings average is 6.2. Those two make it much easier to afford the pricey goalies and stars. Quinton Byfield (LAK) carries a DTD tag, so check his status before lock.
The sheet gives no ownership numbers, so we can't say where the crowd will land. With a single game and a short list of rostered goalies, expect plenty of overlap at the top, and roster construction around the value forwards is where lineups can separate.
Our model's top lineup uses $49,000 of the $50,000 cap. It puts Kuemper at captain for $13,800, with Martin at $10,200, Alex Laferriere at $7,400, Haula at $5,000, Clarke at $8,600 and Erik Gustafsson at $4,000 in the flex spots. It pairs both goalies in the same build and fills out the skaters with a mix of price points.
