Wednesday's late NHL slate is a two-game card, with NJD at COL and TOR at SEA. Lock is Wed 10/28 at 9:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. PT), and the salary cap is $50,000.
Our model's top-ranked play is Nathan MacKinnon (COL, C/UTIL) at $9,000. He carries a ceiling of 33.1, the highest on the sheet, and a DraftKings average of 19.5. Anthony Stolarz (TOR, G) is next at $7,800, with a ceiling of 27.2 and an average of 16.6. Jack Hughes (NJD, C/UTIL) costs $8,000 and brings a ceiling of 29.6, though his DraftKings average is 14.4. Auston Matthews (TOR, C/UTIL) is $8,600 with a ceiling of 25.4 and an average of 16.5.
The value plays are where this slate gets interesting. Artturi Lehkonen (COL, W/UTIL) is only $5,300 but has a ceiling of 23.0 and an average of 12.9. Jordan Eberle (SEA, W/UTIL) is the cheapest of the group at $4,000, with a ceiling of 21.1 and an average of 10.7. William Nylander (TOR, W/UTIL) sits in the middle at $6,800, with a ceiling of 25.4 and an average of 14.8. Philipp Grubauer (SEA, G) is an alternative in net at $7,600, with a ceiling of 20.9.
The fact sheet doesn't include ownership figures, so we can't say where the crowd will land. On the status front, Kirill Marchenko (TOR) carries a DTD tag, while Elvis Merzlikins, John Tavares, Chris Tanev, Max Domi and Miles Wood of TOR, along with Jared McCann and Ryan Lindgren of SEA, are tagged IR.
Our model's top lineup spends the full $50,000. It pairs MacKinnon ($9,000) with Brock Nelson ($4,800) at center, then fills the wings with Nylander ($6,800), Lehkonen ($5,300) and Jack Roslovic ($4,500). Devon Toews ($4,200) and Jake McCabe ($3,300) take the defense spots, Stolarz ($7,800) goes in net, and Arseny Gritsyuk ($4,300) fills the UTIL slot.
