Wednesday's NHL showdown on DraftKings is a single game, PHI @ WSH, and it locks at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT). With one game on the board and a $50,000 cap, the captain slot, which scores 1.5x points at 1.5x salary, carries much of the weight.
At the top of the ranking, Jakob Chychrun of WSH costs $10,200 and has a ceiling of 22.6, the highest of the group, along with a DraftKings average of 11.7. Jordan Kyrou (WSH, $5,000) sits just behind at 22.0, and Dylan Strome (WSH, $8,600) is at 21.1 with an 11.4 average. Boone Jenner (WSH, $4,800) rounds out the upper tier at 20.8. Dan Vladar is the priciest PHI option at $10,400, but his 14.6 ceiling is well below the WSH skaters around him.
The value plays are where this slate gets interesting. Cole Knuble (PHI) is only $2,600 with a 15.1 ceiling and an 8.0 DraftKings average. Justin Holl (WSH) costs just $2,000 and carries a 12.6 ceiling, also with an 8.0 average. Martin Fehervary (WSH) at $4,400 has a 19.4 ceiling, a strong number for the price, and Kyrou and Jenner offer similar upside at under $5,000 each.
Ownership figures are not available for this slate, so there is no read on where the crowd will land. Note that Logan Thompson, Vincent Desharnais and Rasmus Sandin of WSH, along with Owen Tippett, Travis Konecny, Rasmus Ristolainen and Nikita Grebenkin of PHI, all carry an IR tag on DraftKings.
Our model's top lineup uses $49,100 of the $50,000 cap. It puts Strome at captain for $12,900, then fills the FLEX spots with Alex Tuch at $9,800, Chychrun at $10,200, Matvei Michkov at $7,600, Kyrou at $5,000 and Ilya Protas at $3,600. Lineups lock at 7:30 p.m. ET.
