Thursday's NHL slate on DraftKings is a single-game showdown, WPG @ TBL, with a captain slot that scores 1.5x points at 1.5x salary under a $50,000 cap. The slate locks Thu 10/29 at 7:00 p.m. ET (4:00 p.m. PT).
Kyle Connor of WPG sits at the top of our model's ranking at $10,000, with a ceiling of 29.7 against a DraftKings average of 16.3. That ceiling is the highest on the board by a wide margin, which is why he anchors our lineup in the captain slot. Stuart Skinner (WPG, $9,200) carries a ceiling of 21.6 and an average of 13.0, and Nikita Kucherov (TBL, $10,800) posts a 21.9 ceiling with the same 13.0 average. Jake Guentzel (TBL, $8,600) is close behind at a 20.8 ceiling and a 13.2 average.
The value plays start with Alex Iafallo (WPG), who costs just $3,600 and still shows a ceiling of 15.8 and an average of 6.7. In a format where salary is tight, that kind of production at that price opens up room for a premium captain. Cole Perfetti (WPG, $8,200) is a pricier option with a 19.1 ceiling and a 10.8 average. Goalies are a harder sell here: Andrei Vasilevskiy (TBL, $10,400) tops out at 14.4, and Nico Daws (WPG, $9,200) at 10.8, so neither offers much upside for the cost.
Check the status tags before lock. DraftKings lists Brandon Hagel and Victor Hedman (both TBL) as DTD, and Zemgus Girgensons (TBL) as OUT. Josh Morrissey, Nick Bjugstad and Vladislav Namestnikov (all WPG) and Yanni Gourde (TBL) carry IR tags.
Our model's top lineup uses $48,600 of the $50,000 cap. It puts Kyle Connor at captain for $15,000, then fills the flex spots with Nikita Kucherov ($10,800), Stuart Skinner ($9,200), Mark Scheifele ($8,800), Elias Salomonsson ($2,800) and Dylan DeMelo ($2,000). The two cheap defensemen pay for the stars up top.
