Friday's one-game NHL showdown on DraftKings sends NJD to VGK, and lineups lock at 6:00 p.m. ET (3:00 p.m. PT). The format uses a captain slot that scores 1.5x points at 1.5x salary, with a $50,000 cap.
Jack Eichel sets the ceiling for the slate. At $10,600, the VGK forward carries a ceiling of 27.1 and a DraftKings average of 15.1, the highest ceiling among our model's top-ranked plays. Cameron Whitehead of VGK is next at $9,800 with a ceiling of 24.6, narrowly ahead of Connor Hellebuyck of NJD, who costs $9,400 and has a ceiling of 24.1 against a DraftKings average of 14.4. Remi Poirier, also NJD at $9,400, shows a ceiling of 23.6.
Jack Hughes of NJD costs $10,400 with a ceiling of 21.7 and an average of 13.7. Adin Hill (VGK, $9,800) has a ceiling of 19.6 and Jake Allen (NJD, $9,400) a ceiling of 17.2, which makes both harder to justify at those prices.
The clearest value is Alexander Holtz of VGK. At $2,000, he has a ceiling of 13.4 and a DraftKings average of 8.5, and that small salary frees up room for the expensive names around him. Our model also uses Braeden Bowman at $4,000 as a second cheap piece.
On status, Carter Hart of VGK is tagged DTD, so check his situation before lock. Victor Olofsson, Parker Wotherspoon and Kai Uchacz of VGK, along with Seamus Casey of NJD, carry IR tags.
Our model's top lineup spends $49,700 of the $50,000 cap. It puts Whitehead in the captain slot at $14,700, then fills the FLEX spots with Bowman ($4,000), Holtz ($2,000), Hellebuyck ($9,400), Mark Stone ($9,000) and Eichel ($10,600). Pairing the cheap Holtz and Bowman with three high-priced FLEX players is what makes the build fit.
Lineups lock Friday at 6:00 p.m. ET (3:00 p.m. PT), so get your entries in before then.
